Shell and Shenergy form joint venture to develop hydrogen refuelling network in China

Shanghai − Shell (China) Limited and Shanghai Shenergy Innovation and Development Co., Ltd., an affiliate of Shenergy (Group) Co., Ltd., have signed an agreement to form a joint venture, namely Shanghai Shenergy and Shell New Energy Company Limited. Through the new joint venture, the two parties will invest to build a network of hydrogen refuelling stations in Shanghai, Shell’s first hydrogen refuelling network in Asia.

Shell, Sinopec, Baowu and BASF to explore open-source carbon capture, utilisation and storage project in China

Shanghai − Shell has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sinopec, Baowu and BASF to explore the feasibility of developing an open-source carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) project in the East China region. An open-source project could potentially offer industrial companies in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River contractual opportunities to capture and store their COemissions.

Shell has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CNOOC, Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission and ExxonMobil to explore the feasibility of developing a carbon capture and storage (CCS) hub in the Daya Bay National Economic and Technological Development Zone in Huizhou, Guangdong Province, China.

The report sets out a potential pathway for China to achieve net-zero CO₂ emission from the production and use of energy by 2060.
