Shell and Shanxi Institute of Coal Chemistry sign R&D agreement
Shell Global Solutions International (SGSI) and Shanxi Institute of Coal Chemistry under Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICC-CAS) today signed a joint research and development agreement to test and enhance the production process to turn coal-based syngas into higher alcohols, which could be used as alternative fuels or value-added chemicals.

PetroChina and Shell sign long-term Gorgon LNG supply contract
Beijing, 24 November 2008: PetroChina International Company Limited (PetroChina) and Shell Eastern LNG (Shell) today signed a binding Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) for the long-term supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Gorgon project in Western Australia and the Shell LNG portfolio.

Shell has topped the list of the world’s leading lubricants suppliers, according to new research into the global lubricants market. The research, conducted by Kline & Company*, gives Shell 13% of the market by volume in 2007, and a two per cent lead over its nearest competitor.

Shell Shares Energy Scenario 2050 With China
China can find pathways to achieve a more sustainable future of energy production and consumption with lesser coal dependence and CO2 emission in the upcoming decades, even if the country’s primary energy demand itself quadruples by 2050, the Royal Dutch Shell Group says here today in the event of launching Energy Scenarios to 2050, led by Mr. Jeroen van der Veer, Shell Group’s Chief Executive Officer.

QPI , PetroChina & Shell Sign LOI for refinery and petrochemical manufacturing and marketing in China
Doha, 23 June 2008: In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Heir Apparent of the State of Qatar, Qatar signed today with PetroChina Company Limited (PetroChina), and Shell (China) Limited (Shell), a Letter of Intent (LOI) to commence joint preliminary studies to assess the viability of building a refinery and petrochemical manufacturing complex and marketing its products in China. The signing was witnessed also by Mr. Xi Jinping, Vice President of the People’s Republic of China and His Excellency Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassem Bin Jabor Al-Thani, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

PetroChina, Qatargas and Shell sign first long-term Qatar – China LNG deal
Beijing, 10 April 2008: Qatargas, Shell and PetroChina today signed binding sales and purchase agreements that will lead to the long-term supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) originating from The State of Qatar to the rapidly growing Chinese market.
