Shell launches Quest carbon capture and storage project

Shell today celebrated the official opening of the Quest carbon capture and storage (CCS) project in Alberta, Canada, and the start of commercial operations there. Quest is designed to capture and safely store more than one million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) each year – equal to the emissions from about 250,000 cars. Quest was made possible through strong collaboration between the public and private sectors aimed at advancing CCS globally.

Shell Bitumen has been named the winner of the 2015 Global Road Achievement Awards (GRAA) by the International Road Federation (IRF) in the research category for its bitumen odour-neutralising product, Shell Bitufresh. The selection was made by an independent, international panel of judges with expertise across major road and highway disciplines.

Shell opens commercial centre in China

Shanghai, 3 June 2015: Shell opened its China commercial centre in Shanghai today which sees the majority of its downstream businesses move to the country’s commercial hub. The businesses now operating from the new centre include lubricants, corporate sourcing, marine products, bitumen, sulphur and chemicals sales. Shell’s first training centre for Chinese distributors, Shell Shanghai University, also resides in the centre. The company’s China corporate headquarters remains in Beijing.

Hyundai recommends Shell as preferred aftermarket oil supplier for another five years

Today Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) and Shell Lubricants announced the renewal, for another five years, of their agreement for Shell to be recommended as the preferred aftermarket motor oil supplier for Hyundai vehicles worldwide. Branded motor oils manufactured by Shell will be recommended in Hyundai workshops and made available to customers in over 70 countries. The companies have now been cooperating for a decade.
